Description

Wednesday’s vote caps months of heated debate that has divided Portlanders, prompted rounds of finger-pointing between local elected leaders and team officials and cast a harsh spotlight on Trail Blazers owner Tom Dundon, who led the purchase of the team for $4.25 billion in March.

The Portland City Council on Wednesday affirmed the city’s financial commitment toward a potential $600 million Moda Center renovation sought by the Trail Blazers, and set out provisions Portland will seek in negotiations for a new long-term lease with the team.
