Description

Several thousand marched from Elizabeth Caruthers Park to the ICE facility on Saturday, Jan 31. Federal agents deployed tear gas and flash-bang grenades on the demonstrators when they arrived near the building.

A Portland city councilor says he plans to push ahead with a proposal to ban the use of tear gas citywide after federal officers last weekend unleashed torrents of the noxious munition upon protesters outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building in the South Waterfront neighborhood.
