Pass level roads on the Oregon Cascades could see 7-9 inches of snow through Saturday afternoon. There's a slight chance of as much as 12 inches. Oregonian file photo.

Portland residents will wake to fairly calm weather Friday before a new front moves in bringing showers during much of the day.
