The one-man show “Communion” explores the intersection of LGBTQ+ identity and faith after Matthew LaBanca was let go from two positions in the Diocese of Brooklyn for marrying a man.

When Matthew LaBanca was fired from his jobs at two Catholic institutions after the Diocese of Brooklyn learned he had married a man, he faced a choice: accept a severance package and remain silent, or tell his story.
