North Bend’s girls are No. 9 in this week’s OSAA/Coaches 4A Basketball Poll. The Bulldogs (16-4) follow top-ranked Stayton (14-3), Baker (17-4), Cascade (10-7), Henley (14-4), Seaside (14-4), Marist Catholic (13-4) at No. 6, Philomath (10-9) & St. Helens (12-4) at No. 8. The OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union 3A Girls’ & Boys’ State Basketball Tournament returns to the Bay Area, March 5-7. Teams are vying to qualify. The 3A Poll has Vale (21-1) on top, followed by Amity (21-2), Banks (16-4), Creswell (16-6), Sisters (17-5), Valley Catholic (17-5), Pleasant Hill (16-6), Coquille (15-4) No. 8, Cascade Christian (16-5) and Taft (18-6) at No. 10. Only eight-teams will advance to the 3A Tournament. Final week of the regular season for most, then playoffs. Regis (21-1), of Stayton, tops the 2A Poll. Bandon (20-2) is No. 4, Nestucca (20-2) is No. 5, Knappa (13-10) is tied for No. 10. Country Christian (18-3) leads the 1A Poll. Tualatin (18-1) tops the 6A Poll, no poll for the 5A teams this week.
