Prep softball state semi-finals were held Tuesday for the 4A schools and the Cowapa League came out on top with both No. 1 St. Helens winning 9-0 over visiting Pendleton and No. 3 Astoria winning at No. 2 La Grande, 9-4.  Astoria and St. Helens will play at noon, Saturday, June 7, Jane Sanders Stadium, Eugene.  In the 3A bracket, a couple of one-run games to the finals.  No. 4 So. Umpqua lost 7-6 at No. 1 Scio, and No. 3 Yamhill-Carlton fell, 5-4 at No. 2 Dayton.  Scio and Dayton will meet on Friday, June 6, noon, Jane Sanders Stadium, Eugene.  The 2A/1A finals will pit No. 9 Grant Union/Prairie City against No. 2 Weston-McEwen/Griswold after both won semi-final games.  Grant Union/Prairie won at No. 4 Salem Academy, 10-4 and Weston-McEwen beat No. 6 visiting North Douglas, 2-1.  The two will meet on Friday, June 6, 3 p.m., Jane Sanders Stadium.
