High school band and orchestra state championships this week at OSU
OSAA release – The OSAA / OnPoint Community Credit Union Band/Orchestra State Championships are scheduled for Wednesday through Saturday, May 8-11 at LaSells Stewart Center on the campus of Oregon State University in Corvallis. More than 2,500 Oregon high school students will compete for trophies in five band classifications and string and full orchestra. Orchestras perform Wednesday followed by 3A and 4A bands on Thursday. 2A/1A and 5A bands take the stage Friday and 6A bands perform Saturday. Reedsport won at Myrtle Pt., 3-0. Bandon/Pacific won at Waldport, 4-2.
