South Coast Holiday Basketball Tournament

Teams from Central Oregon dominated the 2025 South Coast Holiday Basketball Tournament at Marshfield High School this past weekend. The 22nd annual event saw Crook Co. win the boy’s title over Marshfield, 78-46, and Redmond taking the girl’s championship over Mountain View, 72-23, Saturday evening at the Pirate Palace, Coos Bay. The Panthers and Cougars are from the same 5A Intermountain League, same as Crook Co. The Cowboys, from Prineville were led by All-Tourney player, 6-10 Bryce Lowenbach in winning the boy’s championship over the Pirates. In the girl’s consolation, North Bend downed Sutherlin, 42-37. Marshfield’s girls lost the seventh-place game to Coquille, 48-16. Hidden Valley took third in the boy’s bracket with a 66-64 win over Redmond. North Bend won the Consolation Championship, 62-51 over North Marion. Philomath took seventh with a 60-26 win over Sutherlin.

Creswell downed Cottage Grove, 74-33. 3A – Neah-Kah-Nie beat Chandler Prep (AZ) 73-33. Gold Beach over Siuslaw, 47-46 (ot). 2A – Waldport downed Camas Valley, 48-34. Bandon won at Santiam, 69-67. Nestucca lost to Lowell, 54-47.

Eagle Point won the tournament (172.5), while Grants Pass was second (162.5) and Burns third (160.5). Siuslaw was 11th (77.5). Ryker Pruett took first place at 120 lbs.
