Both Marshfield and North Bend’s wrestling teams competed at the 41-team Cottage Grove Invitational, Friday & Saturday in the South Willamette Valley. For the Pirates: 113 – Garron Castro, 1st. 113 – Tristin Henry lost in the QF. 126 – Charlie Morton fell in the SF and lost the 5th place match. 285 – Skylar Folau, 1st place. Marshfield (116.5) finished sixth, Eagle Point won with 272.5-pts. North Bend took fourth place, 123.5. Individually for the Bulldogs: 120 – Ryker Pruett took 1st place. 132 – Nicholas Campbell 3rd. 144 – Jackson Swanson placed 3rd. 215 – Dylan Swanson fell in the SF & placed 4th. Others: Nolan Timeus (165), GB, took second-place. Other coastal teams: Coquille (81.0) placed 13th, Siuslaw/Mapleton (58.0) placed 18th, Gold Beach (55.0) placed 20th, Myrtle Pt. (50.5) placed 23rd, Nestucca (47.0) placed 25th. In the girl’s meet: Marshfield – 115 – Amina Palacios lost in the QF. 125 – Annhelena Vancannon lost in QF. 155 – Olivia Shield lost in the QF. North Bend: 120 – Jaelynn Cain-Torrez lost in QF. Grants Pass won the 40-team race, Marshfield was 20th (32.5) and North Bend 32nd (9.0).
