On Saturday, prep volleyball, 4A – Seaside Tournament, North Bend lost to Clatskanie, 2-0. Banks beat Seaside, 2-0. Banks downed Neah-Kah-Nie, 2-0. 1A – Non-league: Powers won at Triangle Lak, 3-2. Powers beat Mannahouse Christian Academy, 3-2. Marshfield’s volleyball team will host Cottage Grove in a 4A Sky-Em League match, Monday, Oct. 13, 6:30 p.m., Pirate Palace, Coos Bay. On the North Coast, 3A – Coastal Range Lg.: Neah-Kah-Nie at Banks, 6 p.m.

Prep VB Polls

Marshfield is ranked No. 4 in the latest OSAA/Coach’s 4A Volleyball Poll. Marist Catholic is ranked No. 1, followed by Cascade, Henley and then the Lady Pirates. Philomath is No. 5. Cottage Grove is No. 8 and Astoria No. 10. Westside Christian tops the 3A Poll, followed by Burns, Valley Catholic, Dayton and Cascade Christian. The OSAA State 3A & 4A Volleyball State Championships will take place Nov. 7 & 8 at Marshfield and North Bend high schools. In the 2A Poll, Crosshill Christian is top-ranked, Myrtle Pt. is No. 4.
