Description

A 2.8-magnitude earthquake shook the southern end of the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast, Wednesday, Dec. 24.  According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was locates west of Petrolia, CA near Cape Mendocino in Northern California.

While our Administrative Offices are closed for the day, Patrol and Corrections Deputies are working their regular shifts. Here are a few quick tips to keep your holiday celebrations and travel safer: 🎄 Stay updated on the weather and road conditions. Check Trip Check for current road conditions: www.tripcheck.com or call 5-1-1 🎁 Even on short car trips, take your emergency car kit with you. Have extra water, food, clothes, etc. 🎄 Have a sober and well-rested driver. 🎁 Keep alcohol and other substances away from youth and pets. 🎄 Remember to turn off Christmas lights and blow out candles before leaving. 🎁 Take a break when you need it. Many things can make the holidays stressful. When things heat up, take a break, a walk, or some space to cool down. 🎄 Holidays can be tough for different reasons.
