A 4.9-magnitude earthquake was recorded just off of Curry Co. on the South Oregon Coast, early Thursday, Aug. 6. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located between the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast, West to Southwest of Port Orford and at a depth of six-miles. At the Southern Junction, a 2.8-magnitude quake was recorded West of Petrolia, CA, near Cape Mendocino in Northern California, and Southwest of that location, Aug. 5, a 4.4-magnitude was recoded North to Northwest of Covelo, CA, on land.
