A 5.5-magnitude earthquake was recorded west of Coos Co., Monday, June 29. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located on the outer fault line of the two that run parallel with the Oregon Coast, west of Bandon and at a depth of six-miles. There were two accompanying after shocks, 3.4-magnitude, west of Port Orford, and 3.9-magnitude west of Langlois, both in Northern Curry County. There was also a 2.9-magntidue quake at the southern end of the two fault lines, west of Petrolia, CA, near Cape Mendocino in Northern California.
