Three earthquakes have been recorded within the Cascadia Subduction Zone involving the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, two of the quakes were off the South Oregon Coast. A 3.0-magnitude was recorded Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, west to northwest of Bandon. In between the two fault lines, at 2.7-magntidue was recorded west to northwest of Coos Bay’s Barview. At the Southern End of the two fault lines, a 2.9-magnitude was recorded west of Petrolia, CA, near Cape Mendocino, in Northern California.
