The Cleveland Guardians lead the ALCS 2-1 and host the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 4 at Progressive Field on Friday, October 16 (5:00 PM PT, TBS). Rain is forecast in Cleveland for most of Friday, so first pitch was pushed back two hours to fit a window between 8 and 11 p.m. ET. MLB has contingency plans ready in case the game is postponed. Cleveland retook the series lead with a 3-2 win in Game 3. Rookie Petey Halpin hit a go-ahead two-run homer in the fifth inning off Griffin Jax, and Gavin Williams struck out nine over five innings. The Guardians bullpen of Daniel Espino, Erik Sabrowski, Hunter Gaddis and Cade Smith allowed one baserunner over the final four innings, and Tampa Bay struck out 13 times.
