I am writing in response to Carlos Fuentes’ article referring to Senate Bill 605, which bars medical debt from appearing on credit reports, (“Medical debt, contractors’ wages and more: These new Oregon laws will take effect Jan. 1,” Dec. 27). While the intention to protect consumers is commendable, important shortcomings must be addressed.
