Even when The Oregonian/OregonLive Editorial Board scolds Salem for its dysfunctional legislature, the board is so Portland polite — careful not to step too hard on any toes, (“Editorial: Move tax vote to May but Dems must end mismanagement,” Jan. 25). Sometimes, being nice just doesn’t work, and it is time to take off the gloves and come out swinging.
