Republican state Sen. Christine Drazan is quoted as saying that “technically” she did not support President Donald Trump’s decision to send federalized National Guard troops to Portland in 2025 in response to protests outside the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement building, (“‘A reinterpretation of history’: Kotek says Drazan misstated her response to Trump troops in Portland,” Oct. 2). Drazan asks us to read her press release at the time in support of that statement.
