Description

With its recent Portland City Council endorsements, The Oregonian/OregonLive Editorial Board would have us believe that the council is plagued by “ugly squabbling that leads to 6-6 deadlocks” largely because there are four councilors affiliated with the Democratic Socialists of America and two non-DSA allies, (“Editorial endorsement November 2026: Change the mix on City Council by electing these endorsed candidates,” Oct. 1). “Since city councilors are stuck in stalemate,” the board argues, voters should “break the logjam” by getting rid of one of the DSA councilors.
