Description

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Gary Hollands, Julia Brim-Edwards and Herman Greene for their service on the Portland Public Schools board, (“Portland Public Schools voters oust incumbent board member, embrace women candidates,” May 20). They served our city during an especially difficult time for PPS, and they put in countless hours during the 2023 strike. Over their term, these three board members remained calm, transparent and consistent in their communication with the public. I also appreciated their work to tighten the language of the school bond and increase support for its passing. As a PPS parent, I will miss their leadership and voice in our community.
