The column by the owner of GeekEasy Anime Cafe exhibits an attitude of hope that can help save downtown Portland, demonstrating that historical districts are worth preserving., (“Opinion: Doing the impossible in Old Town,” Jan. 18). Without our patronage, districts like this will wither away and we will be left with only generic businesses that can be found in any and every city. How boring!
