I have been a Metropolitan Learning Center parent for 12 years. I served four years as the president of the parent-teacher-student association and chairedMLC’s 50th anniversary in 2018. I have seen firsthand what makes it such a gem.

National School Resource Deputy Appreciation Day was Sunday, February 15th! In that spirit, we wanted to take a moment to recognize the valuable work of all law enforcement working within our schools. A School Resource Deputy is a unique position within the law enforcement profession. These team members are mentors, counselors, educators and law enforcement who support the students within the communities they serve. They are valuable members of the education community who offer additional perspectives, support, and connection in the pursuit of keeping schools and students safe.
