The problem in the Oregon Legislature isn’t legislators who hire family members. There could be plenty of behind-the-scenes work going on that’s legitimate, (“Oregon lawmakers quietly hire their family members with taxpayer money — and little oversight,” Nov. 8). The problem is a lack of accountability and any kind of oversight. That should be at the front and center of each legislator’s mind.
