The Trump administration’s proposal to quadruple logging in 18 Oregon counties raises important questions about environmental protection and county finances (“Trump administration wants to make Oregon logged again revving up decades-old battles over big timber‚” March 9). I have family in Coos County and the region’s decline is not abstract to me. But missing from the conversation among proponents is a more fundamental problem: the infrastructure needed to make this proposal work does not exist.
