Description

I was at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall in late January for a glorious bit of music. It was not raining, nor was it terribly cold. And only about a third of the hall — with a capacity of 2,776 — was filled. Although there were standing ovations for each selection, about 900 people just can’t make as much noise as a full house can. It must be disheartening for the local and guest performers who study and prepare their art for the audience — and then find so many empty seats.
