Description

As a physician, I hear daily from patients across Oregon who struggle to access lifesaving addiction care. The Oregon Senate Committee on Early Childhood and Behavioral Health recently held a public hearing on Senate Bill 1573, which would prohibit syringe service programs from operating mobile or temporary locations within 2,000 feet of a school or licensed childcare facility. The bill aims to reduce public drug use and make public spaces safer. Unfortunately, it would do the opposite.
