A member of the Portland City Council lashed out in an incendiary social media post, excoriating an elderly woman who suggested that his arms covered in tattoos might be offensive to some of his constituents, (“Portland council president blasts 95-year-old constituent for her ‘small-minded’ tattoo critique,” March 11). Another posted a profane message to a person he finds offensive, (“Portland leader fires off profanity-laced emails, telling broker ‘shut your racist mouth,’” March 19). In Washington County, complaints show the chair seems to be incapable of courteous interaction with employees, (“Board chair apologizes for leaving county employee in tears, says she’s stepped back from key duties,” March 19).
