I’m confused. How have we fallen this low? (“A startling share of working Oregonians can’t afford life’s basics, new study shows,” July 30). A new study by the research organization United for ALICE “shows that 29% of Oregon residents earn above the poverty level but below the amount needed to cover their essential costs.”
