BANDON – Southern Coos Hospital & Health Center announces its clinical and non-clinical Employees of the Month for May 2025.

Employees of the Month are nominated by their peers and voted on via an anonymous poll. Awardees receive points on the hospital’s AwardCo platform, which they can redeem for merchandise or gift cards, and also receive a designated parking spot for the month.

CLINICAL – Amanda Myers, RN, BSN, Medical-Surgical Nurse Manager

Amanda Myers is an unsung hero. She is always willing to assist in any investigation or help with any process improvement, or even just share her vast knowledge when she is approached by someone non-clinical who needs direction or context. Amanda’s patience and great compassion shine through regardless of how busy her department might be. She doesn’t ask for credit and even goes out of her way to ensure others get the credit for their involvement. Amanda has true integrity, professionalism, and always shows teamwork as well – great job!

NON-CLINICAL – Vanessa Ferrer: Dietary Cook, Dietary Dept. 

I would like to nominate Vanessa Ferrer for Employee of the Month. Although she works in a different department, her positive presence and consistent dedication do not go unnoticed. She is not only incredibly hardworking but also one of the kindest and most pleasant people to work with. She always greets everyone with a smile and never hesitates to lend a hand or offer support, even when it’s outside of her regular responsibilities. Whether it’s stepping up to help during busy times or simply being someone others can rely on, Vanessa exemplifies what it means to be a team player. Her positive attitude and work ethic are truly inspiring and make our workplace better for everyone. I believe Vanessa deserves to be recognized for her contributions and the genuine kindness she brings to our team every day.
