Celebrating 5,000 Customers with Beacon Broadband!
Last week, we had the pleasure of joining Beacon Broadband to celebrate a major milestone—serving their 5,000th customer! The event brought together business leaders, government officials, community members, and even the 5,000th customer himself! The celebration recognized the impact of high-speed fiber internet in Coos and Curry Counties.
Our Executive Director, Lexie Woodward, spoke at the event, emphasizing that fiber broadband is not a luxury but the foundation for a thriving economy and a better quality of life. It fosters economic growth, education and healthcare, and attracts businesses and remote workers looking for strong digital infrastructure. As Lexie shared, "Investing in fiber means more jobs, better education, stronger healthcare, and a more connected community."
A special shout out to: Brent Bischoff whose leadership of Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative, Inc. and Beacon Broadband has helped make this vision a reality. Bill Gerski and Keith Quicho Buchhalter for inviting us and Joe Pestana, the 5,000th customer, who was such a good sport.
Here’s to the next 5,000 customers and beyond!
