Description

On June 16, 2025 at approximately 2153 hours, the Roseburg Police Department, along with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, responded to a reported stabbing at Stewart Park (2041 NW Stewart Parkway).  The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Preliminarily, it appears the stabbing was associated with a group of juveniles involved in a disturbance near the train at the park.  The incident progressed from a verbal disturbance, and two juveniles began to physically fight.  During the physical altercation, one of the involved juveniles (15 year old male) stabbed the other juvenile (17 year old male) multiple times.  The stabbing victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to Mercy Medical Center by Umpqua Valley Ambulance.  The 15 year old male was taken into custody without incident and was lodged at Douglas County Juvenile Detention Center.  The Roseburg Police Department would like to extend thanks to the responders (Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Umpqua Valley Ambulance and the Roseburg Fire Department) for their assistance.  The investigation is ongoing, and no additional details are being released at this time.
