Description
Standing proudly at the mouth of the Coquille River, the historic Coquille River Lighthouse has been a Bandon landmark for more than a century.
Commissioned in 1896 to help guide ships safely across the dangerous river bar, the lighthouse was decommissioned in 1939 after improvements to the river channel and navigation technology.
Today, its distinctive 40-foot octagonal tower remains a beautiful reminder of Bandon’s maritime history.
