Southwestern Oregon’s men’s soccer team fell at home to visiting Lane, 3-1, in an NWAC soccer match at Coos Bay.  The Lakers (1-3-1, 1-5-1) host Bushnell University, Tuesday, Sept. 29, on the Coos Bay campus.  SWOCC’s women’s soccer team lost at Umpqua, 3-0, Saturday.  Southwestern (0-7, 0-9) plays at Portland on Wednesday, Sept. 30, noon.  The Laker volleyball team lost at home Friday night to visiting Clackamas, 3-2, but came back on Saturday and beat visiting Chemeketa, 3-0.  SWOCC (1-3, 8-4) plays at Linn-Benton, Friday, Oct. 2, 6p.  Southwestern’s cross country team ran at the Mike Johnson Classic, Western Oregon University, Saturday.  The Laker men were fourth out of 12-teams.  Emmanuel Salinas led SWOCC on the 8K course at Ash Ck. in 14th place (25:21.2).  Lydia Montes De Oca led the Laker women on the 6K course, placing 29th (21:56.7).  Oregon’s women took first (18), Portland second (40) and Oregon State third (79) out of the 13-teams competing.  SWOCC was seventh (235).
