Description

Several thousand marched from Elizabeth Caruthers Park to the ICE facility on Saturday, Jan 31. Federal agents deployed tear gas and flash-bang grenades on the demonstrators when they arrived the building.

Mark Remy was on a memorial bicycle ride in Portland for the man shot and killed by Border Patrol officers in Minneapolis when he ended up at Saturday’s protest at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility in the South Waterfront neighborhood. Parents brought children, elderly people came with walkers, families pushed strollers and others walked with dogs, he said.
