As millions of Americans prepare to celebrate Independence Day, fire officials and emergency managers are urging people to think twice before setting off personal fireworks. With much of the western United States experiencing dangerous fire conditions and drought, several states and local communities have restricted or banned fireworks to reduce the risk of fast-moving wildfires.
