Description

For the past 25 years, journalist and critic Brian Libby has covered architecture, visual art and film in Portland. His new book “In Search of Portland” is a kind of love letter to the Rose City. The book contains six walking tours exploring different parts of Portland, their history and some of Brian’s own memories.
OPB Morning Edition host Jess Hazel took a meandering walk with Brian through downtown to learn more about the city and see it through his eyes.
We hear about the transformative renovation of the Portland Building adjacent to City Hall, find out which Portland fountain the New York Times hailed as one of the greatest works of urban design since the Renaissance and learn what Mark Rothko and Bugs Bunny have in common.
