The Nation participated in Brookings' Azalea Festival Parade on Saturday and our float won the category of "Best Display of Local Resources." The float included Tribal Citizens wearing traditional regalia and displaying traditional items such as fishing nets and drums. They were joined by members of Tribal households who walked alongside the float, handing out Tolowa Dee-ni' swag and candy to the crowd. Accepting the parade award on behalf of the Nation was Melody Campbell, 11. Shu' shaa nin-la (thank you) to everyone, including members of the parade committee who made it all happen!
