Description

The whole school came out to celebrate our first Wrestling State Champion in 22 years this morning!
Principal Kelly Whitley told the gathered students in the BHHS gym:
"Lexie's success is all of our success!"
Coach Marco Thorson summed it up well:
"Wrestling is hard ... it takes a lot of work even just to finish a season, or be able to say you wrestled at this school."
Lexie did far more than just show up, he shared with the students. She earned a trip to State all 4 years of high school, getting one 5th place, and two 3rd places before dominating on her way to 1st this year and the State Championship. She's also been a District Champion and has had over 100 wins in her career wrestling as a Bruin.
Way to represent Brookings-Harbor, Lexie!
Reminder: The fan poll for top wrestling performances at State is still open through Sunday via the Oregonian website. Vote here: https://www.oregonlive.com/…/vote-which-4a3a2a1a-girls-wres…
