The 1890 Cox-Williams House in St. Helens is for sale. A six-foot-wide veranda wraps around the front and sides of the house. The front door has stained glass in the door and transom. The parlor ceiling has a cast plaster rosette. Movie location scouts selected the historic house as a filming location for the 1996 Spanish-American romantic comedy-drama film “Things I Never Told You.” The kitchen has the original floor. The Italianate-style mansion, built for the daughter of a lumber baron and developer, is “prime for a full restoration or reuse project,“ said listing agent Eric Herbert of Keller Williams Realty Professionals. The 1890 Cox-Williams House in St. Helens is for sale. The original oak staircase and many of the paneled doors, hardware and other interior finish are intact. The northeast bedroom was converted to a rental unit kitchen in 1933. A small northwest bedroom was converted to the main bathroom in 1922. Stairs to the basement are off of the kitchen. The 1890 Cox-Williams House in St. Helens is for sale. The basement has carriage doors to the outside. Windows on two stories grant front-row views of downtown activities, such as summertime concerts, October’s Spirit of HalloweenTown and other holiday celebrations.

The weathered 1890 Cox-Williams House in St. Helens, recognized by historians as the largest and most elaborate surviving Victorian-era residence in the city’s downtown Columbia Riverfront Historic District, is for sale at $525,000.
