Description
Today is Earth Day, celebrating the beginning of the modern environmental movement in the U.S. and the power of collective action to make change. On April 22, 1970, peaceful demonstrations by millions of Americans led to the creation of environmental laws and agencies like the Clean Air Act and Environmental Protection Agency.
Earth Day reminds us of the power and responsibility we have to take care of the environment to protect our health and well-being and that of future generations. Want to take action but not sure where to start? Check out the “What You Can Do” handouts on our Climate Action Plan webpage.
