A tense exchange opened congressional testimony Wednesday when Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent went on the offensive against U.S. Sen. Ron Wyden, a fierce critic of Bessent, over emails Wyden’s son sent convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
