In another overtime game, Saturday night, Happy Valley, PA, the No. 6 Oregon Ducks held on to hand No. 3 Penn State its first loss of the collegiate season, 30-24 in double OT. Oregon (2-0, 5-0) has a bye this week and will resume Big 10 play on Saturday, Oct. 11, against Indiana (2-0, 5-0), at Autzen Stadium, Eugene. The Hoosiers also have a bye this week.

A trip back East was not good for Oregon volleyball to kickoff Big 10 Conference play. On Friday, the Ducks lost 3-0 at Illinois and on Saturday, fell 3-2 at Northwestern. Oregon (0-2, 9-3) hosts Iowa, Friday, Oct. 3, 6 p.m., Matthew Knight Arena, Eugene, televised on B1G+ Network.

Oregon’s women’s cross-country team was sixth at the Gans Ck. Classic, Columbia, MO, Friday, Sept. 26. Juliet Cherubet led the Ducks finishing fifth overall (19:20.3). Oregon’s men ran at the Cowboy Jamboree, Stillwater OK, Friday. The Ducks finished sixth. Tayson Echohawk led the Ducks in 16th (24:12.1). Next for Oregon is the Bill Dellinger Invitational, Friday, Oct. 10, Pine Ridge Golf Club, Springfield.
