UO release - EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon head women's basketball coach Kelly Graves announced an addition to his support staff, as former UO guard Peyton Scott was named the program's coordinator of player engagement and operations on Monday.  "Anyone who has spent any time around Peyton knows how special she is," said Graves. "She's made such an impact on our program in just her two years at Oregon, it was a no-brainer to want to keep her on staff after her playing career. We are so excited to be able to keep her in Eugene and can't wait to see her continue to grow professionally and have a positive impact on our team."  "I am so grateful to be returning to a community and program that I am so passionate about and care so deeply for," Scott said. "I am thankful to Coach Graves for this opportunity and looking forward to making a deeper impact on the Oregon women's basketball community. I'm beyond excited for the chance to help student-athletes through a journey that I have a first-hand experience with."  Scott finished her decorated collegiate career at UO after four stellar seasons at Miami (Ohio), helping the Ducks to the second round of last year's NCAA Tournament as a No. 10 seed. Scott averaged 10.0 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 2024-25, while she joined the 2,000-point club on Dec. 19 against UC Irvine at home.  In her initial season at Oregon in 2023-24, Scott suffered a knee injury in the season opener that ended her year and received a medical hardship waiver from the NCAA which allowed her to play in the 2024-25 season.  "Peyton was like an extra coach on the bench for us during the season she missed," Graves added. "She was such an asset to us despite not being on the floor with the way she communicated with the players and helped mentor them with her wealth of knowledge and experience. She's so respected among our program, we can't wait to see what she can do this year and moving forward."  The Lynchburg, Ohio, native spent four seasons at Miami from 2019-23, where she left as the program's fourth all-time leading scorer with 1,871 points. Scott was a four-time all-Mid-American Conference honoree and finished in the top 10 in Redhawk history in 20-point games, field goals made, assists, steals and free throws made.  Playing in 141 career games, she finished her career averaging 15.3 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game, totaling 2,162 points, 708 rebounds and 417 assists to go with 239 steals.  She was Oregon's recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award in addition to being named a Distinguished Scholar by the Big Ten. Scott earned her bachelor's degree from Miami in sports leadership and management and completed her master's degree at Oregon in advertising and brand responsibility.
