South Medford senior Mayenabasi Akpan scored the winning basket Friday night in the Panthers' 56-55 win over No. 1 Tualatin at the 6A girls basketball state tournament at Chiles Center.

South Medford had 5.3 seconds to travel the length of the court as it attempted to beat No. 1 Tualatin in the 6A girls basketball state tournament semifinals Friday night at Chiles Center.
