West Linn's Viggo Anderson (13) gets tackled by a wall of Lake Oswego defenders during the OSAA Class 6A football open championship game between West Linn and Lake Oswego on Friday, Nov. 29, 2024 at Hillsboro Stadium.

The defending Class 6A champion West Linn Lions and senior running back Viggo Anderson open their season against the Kamehameha Warriors (1-1) on Friday night in West Linn. The Lions downed Three Rivers League rival Lake Oswego 44-30 in the 2024 state championship game and finished 11-1. Kamehameha of Honolulu already has two games under its belt. The Warriors won 41-21 at Farrington, followed by a 21-9 loss at powerhouse Kahuku. Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on Friday, August 29 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network.
