The defending Class 4A state champion Marist Catholic Spartans (0-1) travel to the North Coast Friday night to take on the Tillamook Cheesemakers (1-0). After falling to Churchill, 34-7, in their season opener, coach Zach Loboy’s Spartans will lean on junior workhorse running back Connor Harvey. The Cheesemakers are coming off a convincing 24-6 victory at Estacada last week and will counter with junior quarterback Kevin Hurliman, the Cowapa League first-team all-leaguer who threw for 1,227 yards and 15 touchdowns last season. Tillamook, led by coach Kye Johnson, will be looking to avenge last year’s 42-13 defeat at Marist and build on their 2024 state quarterfinal appearance. Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET on Friday, September 5 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network.
