Nelson players celebrate after the Mt. Hood Conference football game between Nelson and Clackamas on Friday, Nov. 1, 2024 at Nelson High School.

The Nelson Hawks checked off another box on the way to becoming a serious Class 6A championship contender on Friday, defeating Central Catholic 26-6 in a surprisingly one-sided game that halted the Rams’ Mt. Hood Conference winning streak at 39 games.
