On Wednesday at 7:47 a.m. the National Weather Service released a special weather statement until 1 p.m. for Southern Blue Mountains of Oregon, John Day Basin, Ochoco-John Day Highlands and North Central Oregon.
"Patchy dense freezing fog has been observed on local traffic and wildfire cameras, with visibilities estimated to be less than a mile and temperatures below freezing in some of these areas. Area highways that are being impacted include US Highways 395, 97, 197, 26, and 20, as well as Oregon Highways 218, 216, 208, 207, 206, 74, and 19. Reduced visibilities and ice accretion on roadways may impact travel. The freezing fog will lift by this afternoon," comments the weather service.
