The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement at 12:47 p.m. on Friday until 2 p.m. for Ochoco-John Day Highlands, East Slopes of the Oregon Cascades and Central Oregon.
“Surface dewpoint and relative humidity are higher this afternoon than previously forecast and expected to remain around 20% or higher for the balance of This Afternoon. As a result, fire weather risk will be more limited than previously thought. Wind speeds are still expected to gust to around 25 mph through the end of the afternoon,” states the weather service.
