Description
A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 6:35 a.m. for dense fog until 9 a.m. for Benton County Lowlands, Linn County Lowlands and Lane County Lowlands.
“Patchy dense fog has developed early this morning in portions of the southern and central Willamette Valley including along segments of I-5 between Cottage Grove and Albany. Drivers may encounter limited visibility which can rapidly fall to one half mile or less. Fog will likely linger until an hour or two after sunrise before dissipating. If commuting through fog this morning, make sure to slow down, use low beam headlights, and leave plenty of following distance between you and other vehicles. Those walking or on bicycles should wear bright and/or reflective clothing,” says the weather service.
